Booster Club Letter
Dear Booster Club Members and Parents,
My name is David Hopkins. I am one of the co-owners and primary concert editor for Black Lightning Productions.
We never charge the program we videotape and always give a check written to the specific club or program we are working with totaling 10 % of whatever we make. This is basically our way of saying thank you for the extra promotion and also helps the program grow larger as they can pay for gas to go to competitions. We work by not charging the school but look for a profit after the concert in selling the DVD’s to students, parents and their family members.
We only videotape the concerts off of an “open mic” system meaning that whatever goes into our microphones which are strategically placed in the auditorium will be on the tape. This also means we cannot 100% guarantee the quality as we never know what the audience may be like on a given night.
Added this year: A minimum of 10 sales is needed to produce a check for your program. A Minimum of 15 sales (20 if further than 20 miles each way) is needed to get a free copy of your concert. We still will not charge unless a last minute (less than 1 week in spring, less than 48 hours at Christmas) cancellation is made and that is $50.
Prices for DVD’s Sold to parents:
1 Hour show (Typical Choir Fall/ Christmas or Band Christmas concert): $15 **
61 Minutes + (Typical Choir Spring/ Band Spring concert): $20 **
*Both Shows (Christmas/ Spring) (1 Hour Each) $25 **
*Both Shows (Christmas/ Spring) (61 Minutes Each) $35 **
*This can only be purchased at spring shows and only can be paid for at same time to receive discount.
** Price includes a $5 shipping fee and all dvd’s are shipped.
We do accept Paypal, Checks, and Cash
Checks are subject to a $25 returned check fee.
If you have any questions about the above letter I would love to address them and hope that you will allow me to work with your program as a videographer.
Have a great day,
David C. Hopkins Co- Owner, Black Lightning Productions
